Serve

Love, by default, desires to give without wages, to share without demand. Love goes beyond emotion and into action. Love is seen. Seen love in action is serving. Love your family and you gladly serve your family. Love your employer and you serve your employer with great joy. Love the church and you serve the body of Christ with the best you can offer.

But, there is a problem. Love demands that you serve with your highest and best. When you serve with your highest and best, it is not long until you come to the end of you…the you that you have been. And discover that the you that you have been is not the you that you are becoming. That is by design. Just like a caterpillar that must go into the cocoon to become the butterfly you must come to the end of what you can do on your own. You then are forced to lean into God, access His grace on a level you have never accessed before. This transformation occurs because you discover God on a level you have never before known Him. You can’t leave that discovery unchanged.
